This series dives into the practice of working with consent—learning to feel into our authentic yes and no. This is not just an idea but a vibration we can sense viscerally in the body. For many of us who have been distant from or afraid of pleasure, expanding our interoception—the ability to feel inside ourselves—can be profoundly healing.

Why Consent & Embodiment

When our bodies have not always been safe to inhabit due to trauma, chronic illness, or ongoing pain, movement practices and consent practices help us find pockets of safety and goodness. Together we’ll explore how to expand those places of ease, even while living in a world that can feel unsafe and chaotic.

Yes, these practices are related to sex and intimacy, but they are just as much about cultivating everyday pleasure, fulfilling relationships, and greater presence in life.

What to Expect

As we move into the holiday season—a time that can amplify stress, obligations, and overwhelm—these sessions offer tools for staying connected to your authentic yes and no. Through breath, movement, and consent practices, we’ll explore how to create more ease and pleasure in daily life, even amidst family dynamics, seasonal shifts, and global chaos (yes, including voting season).

Each week offers two classes exploring related subjects:

1. Pleasure + Consent Classes (Sundays at 7pm ET, 60 minutes)

Drawing from Betty Martin’s Wheel of Consent, we’ll explore:

  • The Four Quadrants of Giving and Receiving

  • Asking: Who is this for? and Who is doing the action?

  • Slowing down to ask: What do I want?

  • Practicing making requests, setting limits, receiving a no, and creating clear agreements

All exercises are fully clothed, with no sexual or genital touch. This creates a safe space where the stakes are lower, allowing us to truly feel and honor our own consent. Over time, participants often notice profound shifts—more ease, more authenticity, and, yes, more pleasure.

2. Embodiment and Movement Classes (Wednesdays at 9am ET, 45 minutes)

Marisa draws on decades of yoga and movement study to guide practices that support pelvic health, presence, and embodied awareness.

These sessions blend:

  • Lymphatic drainage

  • Pelvic yoga

  • Breath

  • Embodied anatomy

  • Creative and Intuitive movement flows

We’ll approach experiential anatomy with curiosity and care—exploring the pelvic floor, breath, and body as a whole system. If you have a vulva, the landscape of your anatomy is often underexplored or misunderstood. In class, we’ll bring gentle attention to the pelvic bowl, musculature, and the unique shapes of our bodies. This work connects us more deeply to safety, presence, and our lived experience of pleasure.

About the Facilitator

Marisa Sullivan is a Sexual Empowerment and Intimacy Educator, and an Embodiment and Movement Facilitator. She works at the intersection of sexual pleasure, sexual health, and trauma-informed care, while naming the lived impact of white capitalist colonial patriarchy on our bodies, relationships, and experiences of sex and pleasure.

Her training includes:

  • Multiple yoga systems

  • Pelvic Floor Yoga

  • Reiki Mastery

  • Womb/Perineal/Pelvic Steaming

  • Deep study of The Wheel of Consent with Betty Martin

  • Psychodrama & trance breathwork

  • Masters in Theater for Education and Therapeutic Use

She is queer, the mother of a teen, and lives with multiple chronic illnesses—all of which inform her grounded, inclusive approach.

Note: Marisa was considering teaching a pelvic and genital anatomy as part of this course, but decided against it and kept this class more spacious about the body and pleasure, moving away from genital focused pleasure.  For my own Sexual Health and Pleasure, learning the genital anatomy has been a major pillar.  I do and will offer genital anatomy lessons in the future.  In the meantime if you are interested I suggest looking into a book for your own study if you are interested.  I will make suggestions in the course material.
